Bill often recounted the mysterious and fateful moment when he was walking past a drug store and his feet would not move. He just had to see Sally again. He was compelled to go into the drug store and use the phone book to track down where Sally worked as a secretary in the Empire State Building. Bill found Sally, and soon thereafter, they were married on February 20, 1947.
