Ten Speed Farm: Weekly Pickup →
Rebecca @ Ten Speed Farm is doing a pretty cool thing this season. You sign up for the mailing list, she sends out an email every Monday with the vegitables that are going to be available. You reply to her with your order & then go pick it up on Wednesday. No commitment, no minimums. It’s a great system and I hope it’s sustainable.
Here’s an example of what was available this week:
SALAD MIX - red & green lettuce, and baby greens like red kale, arugula, beet greens, mizuna… you get the idea. excellent-tasting, and it looks great, too. - $4.50/half-pound bag
SPINACH - cannot be harvested fast enough! spinach & strawberry salad? spinach & cheddar omelette? yum! - $4.50/ half-pound bag
RADISHES - are still very, very handsome & tasty. red, purple, white & pink all bunched together. yeah. - $2.00/bunch
ARUGULA - loves this weather as much as farmers do! so tender & spicy. (the arugula, that is. not the weather or the farmers.) so good. - $4.50/half-pound bag
GARLIC SCAPES - are the flower-stem of hardneck garlic. here for a limited time! use just like garlic in recipes. awesome. - $2.50/bunch
SWISS CHARD - the rainbow-colored kind! hooray! limited quantities - order early if you want it. - $2.00/bunch
EGGS - from the good folks at Fair Winds Farm, just down the road. organic! happy chickens! - $4.50/dozen
